What does the treatment involve?

In just one treatment, 3-5 million natural siliceous micro needles are gently massaged into the dermis layer of the skin. This process enhances skin metabolism and stimulates collagen regeneration without causing bleeding, requiring anaesthesia, or breaking the skin. The treatment accelerates the skin renewal cycle from 28 days to just 7 days by activating basal skin cells, delivering a safe, effective, and natural method for physical rejuvenation.
Spongilla spicules offer an efficient solution for skin resurfacing, serving as a natural alternative to other methods such as microdermabrasion, dermabrasion, chemical peels (including glycolic acid, Jessner's, phenol, and trichloroacetic acid), as well as CO2 laser resurfacing and Erbium laser treatments. They help address various facial issues, including hyperpigmentation, fine wrinkles, sun damage, superficial scars, comedones, enlarged pores, and overall facial rejuvenation.
By massaging Spongilla spicules into the skin, they mechanically separate the layers of the epidermis and reduce the cohesion of keratinocytes. This process increases the shedding of the stratum corneum and promotes the removal of sebum plugs and loose keratinocytes.

How many sessions will I need?

While many clients notice improvements after their initial SQT treatment, we typically recommend a series of four treatments spaced two to four weeks apart for optimal results. To maintain your skin's health and rejuvenation following this course, we suggest scheduling a singular touch-up treatment every three to four months. This will be dependant on your skincare concerns and is something which can be discussed during your consultation with your skincare specialist.

What is involved during the downtime?

Flaking or peeling may occur around days 3 to 5, depending on the level of penetration and the client's current skin condition. It’s important to note that not everyone will experience peeling after treatment, which doesn’t indicate a lack of effectiveness; rather, it may suggest that the skin is regenerating more rapidly.
Spongilla spicules are not absorbed by the skin but can remain for approximately 48 to 72 hours. After this period, they will be shed along with the stratum corneum that has sloughed off.
In comparison to traditional metal microneedling, this procedure is far more straightforward and substantially minimises the risk of infection.
Unlike chemical peels and herbal peels, SQT® spongilla spicules therapy has NO SIDE EFFECTS and is suitable for all skin types and tones. This is because its ingredients are entirely natural and free from acids or harmful components.

Is the facial painful

The treatment may cause a bit of discomfort as the sponge spicules penetrate the Dermis. Over the next 72 hours, these spicules will naturally shed from the skin. During this period, it is common for the skin to appear slightly red, dry, flaky, and tender. However, once this recovery phase is complete, any discomfort will disappear.
