Lip Enhancements

Lip enhancements are undeniably one of the most sought after aesthetic treatments at our clinic and in the UK.
We believe that creating beautiful, enhanced lips is very much an art form and at Rejuvenation Rooms, our focus is on achieving balanced, natural results that harmonise the appearance of the lips with other facial features.
By using hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, we are able to tailor our treatments to gently restore natural lip volume, smooth lip texture and hydrate the lips, as well as refining definition to the lip borders in order to achieve better proportions or symmetry.
We offer Juvéderm Ultra and Juvéderm Vycross ranges of dermal fillers for our lip enhancements. Juvéderm Ultra, gives a more voluminous result and lasts approximately 6 months, whereas Juvéderm Vycross filler gives a softer, very natural result, and lasts approximately 12 months. FAQS

  • What can i expect from this treatment?

First and foremost we always conduct a thorough consultation before any treatment is carried out. Here we can discuss your expectations, the procedure and the risks involved. You will also be required to fill out a full medical history form to ensure you are suitable for treatment. If you wish to proceed, numbing cream is applied to the area for 15 minutes prior to the procedure being carried out. The selected dermal filler is then administered via several injections using sterile, ultra fine needles throughout the lip tissue to achieve the desired outcome.

  • Is the procedure painful?

Lip enhancements can be a little pinchy but nothing extreme! Most of our clients rate it a 2 out of 10 on the painscale, however we appreciate every clients' pain threshold is different and will always do our upmost to keep it as comfortable as possible. Some of our clients have been known to fall asleep during the procedure!! We use a fantastic numbing cream to numb the lips pior to treatment, and the dermal fillers we use also contain local anaesthetic, so as the product is being injected, the anaestheic infiltrates the internal lip tissue and numbs the lips from within.

  • What filler is used?

We use Juvederm dermal fillers by Allergan, because we find they produce the most natural and beautiful results. We offer 2 types:
Juvederm Ultra which is a slightly firmer dermal filler giving a more voluminous result. We also offer Juvederm Volbella or Volift, which gives very soft and natural results, where once the product has infiltrated, it feels just like your lip tissue.

  • How long does the swelling and bruising last?

Swelling is very common and expected due to the body's natural healing process from having several injections, but also because dermal filler attracts water to it. Swelling will typically be at its worst during the evening on the day of treatment, and the next morning when you wake up!! It will then start to resolve after 24-48 hours, however it can take 4 weeks to see the final result of your lip enhancement once the filler has fully settled in.
Bruising is common with lip enhancements, although lots of our clients dont experience any from their treatmets with us. However if they do occur they can last around 5-7 days, and we send you home with arnical gel to apply to your lips which helps to heal any bruising a little quicker.

  • How long does the filler last?

This depends on the filler used. Juvederm Ultra can last around 6-9 months, and Juvederm Vycross can last up to 12 months. However, it is very individual and can be dependent on lifestyle choices such as smoking, alcohol consumption, exercise or sunbed use. Some people metabolise filler much quicker than others, whereas in some clients dermal filler can last for much longer periods than what the manufacturer states.

  • What are the risks?

No dermal filler treatment comes without risk and every client should be made aware of these!
    Risks include:
    Bruising
    Swelling
    Infection
    A sensitivity to the filler
A severe allergic reaction/ anaphylactic shock
A vascular occlusion (blockage of an artery with dermal filler, which can cause the tissue to become starved of oxygen if not treated in a timely manner, which could then deteriorate further and become necrotic (tissue death) or could cause blindness if the artery supplies the retina in the eye. This situation requires emergency dissolving with Hyaluronidase (enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid) to restore the blood circulation back to the affected tissue. Whilst this is very rare, it is important that your practitioner is able to recognise and provide rescue treatment should this ever occur.

Here at Rejuvenation Rooms we have absolutely everything in place to keep you safe during any treatment.
