Skin Peels

Welcome a more radiant looking appearance into your life with this skin-renewing treatment at Rejuvenation Rooms, Norfolk. Chemical peels can target multiple skin concerns, such as acne, blemishes, sun damage and pigmentation. At the same time, they eliminate your dead skin cells, smooth out stubborn fine lines and reduce open pores.
By exfoliating the top layer of the skin, the speed of cell turnover is increased and collagen production is boosted, so that smoother, fresher skin is revealed, creating a brighter, even skin tone. Being made up of naturally occurring acids and enzymes, skin peels offer a safe and natural way of maintaining glowing skin.

    FAQS

    • What are the benefits of a chemical peel?

Beautiful skin doesn't happen overnight and treatments take time to show results. A single chemical peel can provide the immediate effect of bright and radiant skin, however, more significant results in treating textural issues, fine lines, inflammed acne and pigmentation can take longer. Chemical peels improve skin texture and firmness, decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Peels also even out skin tone by improving signs of sun damage, hyperpigmentation, improve acne-prone skin, and reduce pore size appearance.

    • How does a chemical peel work?

Chemical peels work by removing the upper most dead skin cells to reveal a more radiant, smoother complexion. Superficial chemical peels decrease the pH of the skin, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen.

    • What can I expect from my chemical peel treatment?

Superficial peels are pretty comfortable and take around 30-45 minutes. Your skin will be cleansed and the designated peel solution will be applied gently with a brush. You may feel a slight tingly sensation and some warmth to the skin depending on the peel given. Peels are often layer dependant and the solution can be applied up to three times during a treatment, depending on the clients tolerance level. The peel will then either be neutralised or left on the skin if it is self neutralising. A Vitamin A treatment will then be applied to increase collagen and elastin production, along with helping to speed cell turnover in order to accelerate physical peeling from the inside out. The peel treatment is then completed with the application of a medical grade sunscreen.

    • When will my skin start to peel and for how long?

Peeling usually starts around 2-3 days after the treatment and can last 5-7 days. It is very important to follow the aftercare advice from our skincare practitioner and correctly use the post peel skincare kit which is provided after the peel. You must also avoid picking the skin as this can cause soreness, irritation and potentially develop into hyperpigmentation.
