What is HIFU and how does it work?

HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound, which is emitted into the skin in the form of tiny beams. These beams converge under the skin at different depths and create a source of thermal energy. The heat produced stimulates collagen so that it grows and repairs. Collagen is the agent that works to tighten the skin. The active role of collagen tends to decrease as we get older, which you will notice when the skin on your face becomes loose. Then, as HIFU reactivates the collagen, your skin will have a tighter feel and appearance.

How soon will I see results and how long will they last?

Results will vary from person to person, but most clients will start noticing an intial tight feeling immediately after treatment as the collagen fibres in the skin contracts. Actual results will start to become noticeable from one month onwards as your body naturally remodels and regenerates collagen. We then carry out a second treatment after 3 months so the results continue to build peaking around 6-9 months. Results typically last anywhere between a year to two years.

How long will I need to recover?

This is the best part about the HIFU, there is no downtime! You may experience mild redness after the treatment, but this will fade within a few hours. You may feel slight discomfort from the area treated for a few days after treatment, very similar to the feeling of bruising.
